Richard Edward Connell Jr. known as Richard Connell was an American Author and Journalist. “The Most Dangerous Game” is his best work that remained the best short story of all time. In his time, Connell was one of the most popular American writers.
He was a great Screenplay writer too and he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the movie Meet John Doe. In World War I, he served in France with the US Army. That time he was the Editor of the camp newspaper. After the war, he properly turned to write short stories and he wrote 300 short stories in his lifetime.
Big Game Hunter and writer Sanger Rainsford and his friend Whitney are aboard a yacht somewhere in the Caribbean, on their way to Brazil to hunt jaguars. There is talk of a nervous crew as they pass Ship-Trap Island, a mysterious place the sailors dread. Accidentally, Rainsford fell off from the yacht at night.
He thought he was too lucky to be close to an ominous dark island. But soon he discovers it is inhabited by a Russian Big Game Hunter. And that man was too bored with his easy success. So now he has taken up hunting Man as it proves to be a bigger, entertainment challenge.
Rainsford’s lucky charms turned into not only unlucky but also into a Nightmare. Was there any chance for Rainsford to escape that Island? Or he was hunted by the Russian Big Game Hunter?
Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if needs be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure.

The most dangerous game is a classic short story. And the story is full of adventure, excitement, and thrill. The author’s writing style is very clear and beautiful. Although I am not a regular English reader, I did not have any discomfort or problems reading it.
The author takes readers on a journey where something can happen. When the reader accepts the challenge, the protagonist of the story also accepts the challenge of saving his own life. Not strangely beautiful? That’s why it’s great. I read this 45-page book in one sitting. I hope you like it too. Happy reading.
